Tri-County girls’ lacrosse picked up a vital 7-5 win on the road against Bristol Plymouth, improving to 8-3-1 on the season. The win is especially significant as both teams are outside the D3 top 32 but fighting to get in. Bristol Plymouth currently sits at No. 42 in the MIAA power rankings, while Tri-County is close behind at No. 49. With another matchup between the two teams scheduled for tomorrow at Remington Middle School, the Cougars have a golden opportunity to leapfrog the Craftsmen in the standings. A sweep would dramatically improve their postseason chances, and every win counts in the tightly packed race to the top 32. The Cougars have leaned on balanced scoring and steady defense throughout the year, and that formula paid off again in Tuesday’s victory. If they can replicate the effort and energy, they’ll be in a great position to keep climbing. Expect another hard-fought contest as Tri-County tries to complete the season sweep and put itself in postseason contention.
