The Tri-County Cougars capped off a tough season on a positive note, defeating Blue Hills RVT 7–3 on Sunday morning. After dropping four straight and six of their last seven, the Cougars were hungry for a bounce-back win, and they got it behind the arm of Dylan Maw. The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing just one run while striking out a staggering 13 batters in a performance that defined dominance. He also contributed at the plate with a hit and a run scored. All seven of Tri-County’s runs came in the fourth inning, an offensive explosion that proved more than enough. The Cougars finish their campaign at 7–12 and out of the playoff picture, but they’ll carry this performance into the offseason as motivation. Despite the losing record, there were glimpses of talent and potential across the roster. With key returners and a few adjustments, Tri-County has a chance to climb the standings in 2026 and compete for a top 32. The Cougars hope to remember this season as a gap year, a year built on in the future towards sustainable success.
