UXBRIDGE — Golfers, community members, and local businesses are invited to make a difference this summer as the Second Annual Tee Off for Wellness Golf Tournament returns to Blissful Meadows Golf Course on Tuesday, August 18.

More than just an 18-hole golf tournament, the event combines golf, wellness, and community while raising money for two local nonprofits: Abby’s House and Pawsitively 4 Pink. Along with tournament play, attendees can enjoy a Wellness Village featuring local health and wellness vendors, raffles, prizes, and opportunities to support organizations making a difference across Central Massachusetts.

Jennifer Spicer, Senior Director of Development and Communications at Abby’s House, says the organization’s mission is centered on helping women build a path toward independence.

“Abby’s House serves women with or without children who are in need of shelter and affordable housing,” Spicer said. “Our biggest goal is creating an individualized approach for each woman, allowing them to find a path forward that makes them feel dignified, proud, and excited about their future.”

Now in its second year supporting Abby’s House, the tournament provides more than financial assistance—it helps introduce the nonprofit’s mission to new audiences throughout the region.

“Our goal is to connect with every part of the community,” Spicer said. “Any person, at any phase of life, could find themselves needing services like the ones we provide. Events like this help people understand needs that may exist outside of their own everyday experiences.”

Beyond the golf course, the Wellness Village offers attendees the chance to meet local vendors and organizations focused on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Associate Director of Marketing and Events Annie Babineau said that focus on wellness aligns closely with Abby’s House’s philosophy of serving the whole person.

“Wellness covers so many different aspects of our lives,” Babineau said. “At Abby’s House, we really meet women where they are. It’s about supporting the whole person and helping them move forward in a meaningful way.”

Businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor the event, with every dollar helping both beneficiary organizations continue their work.

“A sponsorship is so much more than supporting a golf tournament,” Spicer said. “Every dollar helps empower a young mother and her child to find a healthy path forward or helps provide safe housing for a senior woman who has nowhere else to turn.”

Even those who don’t golf can still make an impact through donations, sponsorships, or by visiting the Wellness Village and supporting the event.

Spicer says community events like Tee Off for Wellness remind people of the power of giving back.

“It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day lives,” she said. “But when we look at the bigger picture and find ways to strengthen our community, it makes a meaningful difference for everyone.”

Abby’s House has served women and children throughout Central Massachusetts for more than 50 years and continues to expand its services to meet growing community needs.

The Second Annual Tee Off for Wellness Golf Tournament begins on Tuesday, August 18, at Blissful Meadows Golf Course, located at 801 Chocolog Road in Uxbridge.
