The Uxbridge Spartans boys’ tennis team rebounded from recent setbacks with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Quaboag on Tuesday. After dropping consecutive matches to Leicester (1-4) and Auburn (0-5), Uxbridge came out firing on all cylinders, winning all three singles matches and both doubles flights without dropping a set. First singles set the tone, with the Spartan’s top player delivering a straight-sets win, while second and third singles followed suit with efficient victories. In doubles, the Uxbridge pairs complemented strong baseline rallies with aggressive net play. The first doubles duo secured an early lead in both sets, and the second pair closed out the sweep with crisp volleys and solid serves. This dominant performance not only snapped the Spartans’ two-match skid but also served as an ideal tune-up for the upcoming SWCL tournament, which begins today. With their overall record at 5-6, Uxbridge will look to carry this momentum into the tournament. The depth and cohesion displayed against Quaboag bode well for the Spartans’ chances in postseason play. If they can replicate Tuesday’s intensity and execution, Uxbridge could make a deep run and finish the season on a high note.
