Uxbridge’s girls basketball team continued to build momentum with a 47-32 win over Sutton, pushing the Spartans to 3-1 on the young season. After a season-opening loss to Douglas, Uxbridge rebounded with wins over Quaboag and Northbridge, then delivered a strong second-half performance against the Suzies.

Zooey Pominville led the Spartans with 21 points while Lola Grube recorded a powerful 14 points and 16 rebounds, providing interior control and second-chance opportunities. Uxbridge led by four at halftime and then outscored Sutton 26-15 in the second half, a decisive margin that reflected improved defensive intensity and better execution in the halfcourt.

Earlier in the week, Ava Rosborough scored 15 in a 39-32 win at Quaboag, and Evelyn Potvin has been a steady contributor with double-figure scoring as well. Uxbridge will face Northbridge on Friday at 6:30 p.m., a matchup that will test the Spartans’ defense and rebounding against a familiar rival. If Uxbridge maintains its second-half toughness and size control, the Spartans should be well-positioned as the schedule ramps up.
