The Uxbridge Spartans softball team rebounded emphatically this week, notching back-to-back victories following their first loss of the season. On Wednesday at home, the Spartans dismantled Blackstone Valley Tech 13–1. Uxbridge’s pitching kept the Beavers at bay, while the offense erupted for thirteen runs. Bailey Dzivasen led the attack with five RBIs, and both Emma Peloquin and Lola Grube chipped in three RBIs apiece. This dominant outing followed Tuesday night’s 6–1 win over Shrewsbury. After a heartbreaking extra-innings 1–0 defeat to Tantasqua on Sunday, the Spartans quickly regained their form. Against Shrewsbury, Lola Grube went 2–4 with a home run and three RBIs, and ace Erin O’Day struck out twelve batters while allowing just one run over seven innings. Uxbridge improves to 19–1 on the season and enters its final home game riding a wave of confidence. With elite pitching, timely hitting, and depth throughout the lineup, the Spartans have reestablished themselves as the team to beat. As the playoffs loom, Uxbridge will look to seal the regular season with one more win at home, setting the stage for a deep postseason run.
