The Northbridge Rams took down the Blackstone-Millville Chargers in a dominating shutout performance on Wednesday afternoon, cruising to a 6-0 victory that helped the Rams get back on track. Northbridge improved to 9-6-2 with the win.
Elly Schofer led the charge with a hat trick, giving the Rams a potent offensive spark. Isabelle Stanley, Letecia Silva, and Maija Beaupre also found the back of the net, and Northbridge’s balanced attack ensured the Chargers had few answers in what became a one-sided contest.
The Rams had been in a mini-slump heading into the matchup, having tied Clinton 1-1 and fallen to Hopedale 3-0 in their two previous outings. The dominant showing against Blackstone-Millville snapped that skid and should boost Northbridge’s standing as the regular season winds down.
Northbridge stayed busy, facing North Brookfield last night, a team that entered the game 4-9 but had just beaten Worcester Tech. The Rams handled the Indians in convincing fashion, posting a 6-1 triumph. Schofer continued her tear, scoring five goals in that game while Maija Beaupre added another tally.
With those back-to-back offensive explosions, Northbridge will head into the final stretch with momentum as it prepares for the playoffs and aims to climb the D4 field hockey rankings from its current No. 20 spot.
