The Milford boys’ baseball team aims to snap a recent skid when it travels to Foxborough High School tomorrow at 3:45 PM. After opening the season 3–1, the Scarlet Hawks have dropped seven of their last nine, most recently falling 11–1 to Taunton in a five-inning affair. Only Tyler Ballard delivered at the plate in that game, collecting two hits and driving in the lone run. Despite the downturn, Milford flashed its potential in a 1–0 victory over Oliver Ames, holding the Tigers to a single run over seven innings. In that outing, the pitching staff settled in following early struggles, and Nick Koch’s 2–3 night, complete with a double and two RBIs, provided the offensive spark. These flashes of promise give reason for optimism heading into tomorrow’s matchup. Foxborough presents a balanced opponent at 7–6, with both offensive pop and solid relief pitching. For Milford to return to the win column, the Scarlet Hawks must combine sharp early-inning pitching with timely hitting, much like they did against Oliver Ames. A strong outing from the starter and early run support could shift momentum back in Milford’s favor as they seek to climb above .500 once more.
