The Milford Scarlet-Hawks entered a challenging stretch after back-to-back losses to Hopkinton and Attleboro and sought a reset in a matchup with Canton. Milford has struggled to find consistent form this season and sits at 2-5, but the squad continues to showcase effort and individual sparks.
Jason Stokes has been a key contributor, producing a 17-point, 11-rebound, three-assist outing in the Hopkinton game, while Matt DaSilva delivered a 21-point performance despite the loss. Ryan Burns has been a force on the glass as well, pulling down 14 rebounds in the opener. Those individual efforts have given Milford hope that the team can climb out of its early hole.
Canton entered the matchup with a 3-2 record and a three-game winning streak, making the contest a stiff test. Milford will now turn to a quick turnaround against King Philip Regional tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. The coaching staff will look to tighten defensive rotations, improve shooting consistency and convert offensive rebounds into second-chance points as Milford chases a much-needed response.
