Northbridge pulled off an upset by beating Hopedale 55-49 in a second-half battle that swung in the Rams’ favor. The game was tight early, Northbridge led 29-27 at halftime, but the Rams’ balanced scoring and timely defense allowed them to widen the gap after intermission.

Brady Direnzo paced Northbridge with 18 points, Marcus MacLeod added 15, and Antonio D’Alfonso chipped in 11 as the Rams’ offense came through in the second half. Hopedale fell victim to a streaky night offensively, and Northbridge’s ability to execute late proved decisive.

The win improved Northbridge to 4-4, giving the Rams back-to-back victories after a recent stretch of mixed results. Northbridge will travel to Assabet Valley on Monday at 6:30 p.m., a matchup that offers a chance to push above .500. For Hopedale, the loss is a bump in an otherwise strong season and a reminder of the margin for error in competitive D1 hoops.
