The Northbridge Rams answered the postseason bell with a dominant 41-14 victory over Seekonk in the opening round of the D7 playoffs. The Rams, seeded No. 4, overcame an early 8-0 deficit and then flexed offensive firepower the rest of the way, pouring in 21 points in the second quarter and 14 in the third to put the contest well out of reach.
Joel LaChapelle starred, accounting for 225 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns, while Mo Rodney Daigle chipped in with 72 rushing yards and two TDs. Northbridge’s playmakers took over after the slow start; over the final three quarters, the Rams outscored Seekonk 41-6, showcasing the explosive potential that made Northbridge a top seed.
With the win, Northbridge advances to face Millbury in the quarterfinals next week. The Woolies advanced with a 33-22 opening-round victory over Manchester-Essex, and these teams already met earlier in the season in a 42-0 Northbridge shutout. LaChapelle paced that earlier win and will look to replicate his dynamic play Friday at 6 PM as Northbridge pursues a deep playoff run.
