Northbridge’s girls basketball team delivered a comprehensive 52-23 victory over Bay Path Monday night, a win that showcased the Rams’ balance and rebounding dominance.
Northbridge built a commanding 34-13 halftime cushion and never allowed the Minutemen to regain footing. Maya McLeod paced the Rams with 11 points and five rebounds, while Addyson Crothers, Elly Schofer, and Ellory Manning each chipped in nine points to round out a multi-pronged attack. That depth allowed Northbridge to rotate fresh defenders and control the tempo, forcing Bay Path into contested perimeter shots and limiting second-chance opportunities.
This result follows a difficult 49-34 loss at Sutton, where Ava Carroll’s 13 points and 18 rebounds powered the Suzies to victory. Still, Northbridge’s stabilization has been clear: the Rams are 4-2 in their last six and have settled into a rhythm on both ends of the floor.
Now the Rams head on the road to face the South Colonels tonight at 6:30 p.m., a massive challenge. South sits at 12-2 and beat Northbridge 58-27 two weeks ago, so this rematch will be a stern test. Northbridge will need its defense to limit South’s transition pace and rely on McLeod’s interior presence to create scoring chances if the Rams want to climb above .500.
