Rams Rally to Draw With BVT, Now Seek End to Winless Stretch

The Northbridge Rams battled the BVT Beavers to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday afternoon in a game that required a late rally from the Rams to salvage a point. Northbridge’s Cooby Trudeau supplied one goal, and Reed Dziekiewicz converted a late penalty kick to knot the score and preserve the tie.

Northbridge sits at 8-4-4 and holds the No. 17 seed in D4 boys soccer, but the Rams have been under pressure lately, going 0-2-3 over their last five matches. That stretch has the program searching for answers before the playoffs begin, and while the tie against BVT provided a stopgap, Northbridge will need to find consistency quickly.

The Beavers, meanwhile, have been a fringe playoff club this year with the No. 30 seed in D3 boys soccer. They have shown flashes of competitiveness but remain outside the comfortable playoff picture.

Northbridge will take a break to focus on fundamentals in practice before heading into a key matchup next Tuesday against the Tantasqua Warriors. Tantasqua has been outstanding at 10-1-3 and carries the No. 5 seed in D3 soccer; the Rams will need to be at their best to end their recent winless run and regain momentum for the postseason push.
