Blackstone Valley’s boys hockey team showed resilience in a comeback overtime win at Hudson, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 3-2 extra-time victory. Max Pilkington was the catalyst, finishing with a hat trick, his second of the season through three games, including the game-winner in overtime.
The scoring sequence began when Max Krauss opened the door for the Beavers, converting a finish set up by Pilkington and Drew Shanahan. Blackstone Valley chipped away and tied the game late in the third before Pilkington completed the rally in OT. The victory improved the Beavers to 2-1 on the year and showcased the team’s ability to respond under pressure.
Blackstone Valley gets a brief break before visiting Ludlow on Wednesday, January 3. The Beavers have already been tested with back-to-back nail-biters and will seek a more comfortable result against a Ludlow squad that will have multiple tune-up games before the matchup. If Blackstone Valley can sustain Pilkington’s scoring and tighten defensive details, the Beavers should continue to climb early in the standings.
