The Franklin Panthers boys’ ice hockey team has rebounded from a rough start to post a solid 10-7-2 record, earning them the 24th spot in the Massachusetts rankings. After a 0-4-1 start, the Panthers turned their season around, going 10-3-1 over their last 14 games, including a current six-game winning streak.
That streak will be put to the test today at 3:10 p.m. when Franklin faces powerhouse St. John’s Prep at the Essex Sports Center in Middleton. The Eagles, ranked in the state’s top five, boast a 15-4 record and are coming off a dominant 7-0 win over Andover.
Franklin enters as the underdog but has proven its resilience throughout the season. With momentum on their side, the Panthers will look to extend their streak and pull off an upset against one of the state’s elite teams.
