The Northbridge Rams softball team dropped back under .500 in a 14–2 loss to Blackstone Valley Tech yesterday. Northbridge totaled three hits but was unable to contain the Beavers’ offense, which surged for 14 runs. The pitching staff and defense struggled to stem the Beavers’ rallies, highlighting areas for improvement. This tough outing came after a win over Leicester, snapping a prior skid and lifting the Rams to 4–5. Natalie Fasold delivered a highlight for the Rams with both a three-run homer and a two-run homer in the five-inning contest. Northbridge demonstrated offensive firepower in the first inning by plating five runs, indicating the lineup’s resilience. The Rams ended the day with double-digit runs in a 17-5 blowout against a struggling Leicester squad. Looking ahead, Northbridge returns home to face Blackstone-Millville Chargers, currently 1–14, tomorrow at 3:30 PM. The Rams will need balanced pitching, timely defense, and continued power at the plate to bounce back. A win against the Chargers would lift Northbridge back to .500 and inject confidence late in the 2025 regular season.
