Northbridge Legion baseball wrapped up a roller‑coaster summer with a 9–2 victory over Cherry Valley. The season began with promise, wins over Framingham, Northborough, and Leominster, but a midseason slump saw the team lose five of six and finish 3–5 before their finale.
Last night’s game had been suspended at 1–0 due to thunderstorms; play resumed at Rochdale Park, and Northbridge quickly broke it open. Alex Vosburgh delivered a double, a triple, and two RBIs, sparking the offense. On the mound, Luke Charron earned the win, tossing five innings, allowing two runs, and striking out six, showcasing the depth of Northbridge’s pitching staff.
Though consistency eluded them for stretches, Northbridge flashed its potential in spurts. Junior standout Willem Haker, named Junior All‑Star Game MVP and a SWCL Second‑Team All‑Star after batting .373 in spring, looked every bit the future cornerstone. His all‑summer performance, combined with contributions from emerging underclassmen, gives the program reason for optimism. As the team reflects on highs and lows, Northbridge will build on last night’s finish and the teams looming play in game, as well as Haker’s leadership, aiming for a stronger campaign in 2026.
