Northbridge’s Legion team had a brutal stretch of games in the last week, beginning with a 14-0 blowout loss to powerhouse Milford and ending with a razor-close 7-6 loss to Hudson last Saturday. This prolonged skid brought Northbridge to a 3-5 record after starting the season with an impressive three straight wins. Monday night, Northbridge took advantage of a golden opportunity, facing off against a struggling Framingham squad, winning 6-0. Northbridge put forth arguably their most complete effort of the season in an impressive shutout performance. Ryan Miley controlled the game from the mound, going seven innings, giving up just four hits and three walks with zero runs. In the batter’s box, catcher Dylan Diosomito had a gem as well, going 2-3 with three RBIs and a triple. Aside from Dylan, Northbridge took advantage of mistakes, scoring off timely baserunning, sacrifice flies, and bunts, despite only four hits on the day. Northbridge has a tough matchup against a dominant force in Milford tonight on the road, where they will look to ride their newfound momentum to a win. Northbridge got blown out last time and will look to take Milford’s zero in an upset on the road at Fino Field.
