On Patriots Day, the Nipmuc boys’ lacrosse team showcased its offensive depth with a 17–9 victory over the Auburn Rockets, improving to 4–3. Junior Ryan Johnson led the attack with five goals, while three other Warriors each notched hat tricks to keep the momentum rolling. At the X, faceoff ace Caden Mastrioianni controlled possession, winning 21 draws and setting the pace for Nipmuc’s transition game. Behind the cage, goalie Brayden Silveira recorded five crucial saves, making timely stops to blunt Auburn’s counterattacks.
The win solidifies Nipmuc’s hold on second place in the Mid Mass League and caps off a stretch where they’ve outscored opponents by an average of six goals per game. Next up is a non‑league showdown against the unbeaten Westborough Rangers, whose high‑octane offense has rolled to five straight wins. After that, Nipmuc won’t have another shot at first place in league play until May 1, when they rematch Grafton, the team that handed them an 8–3 season‑opening defeat.
