Nipmuc Boys’ Basketball had a strong season, finishing 14-8 overall before falling to a tough Abington Green Wave team in the playoffs. Despite the loss, the Warriors’ dedication was evident, highlighted by the standout performances of three DVC all-stars.
Captain forward Logan Demarzo led the way, averaging a stellar 12 points and 9 rebounds per game. His consistent play earned him a spot on the Dual Valley Conference second team, proving his importance to the team’s success.
Co-captain point guard Chase Kelly, a sharpshooter who averaged 15 points per game on 40% from three, took his game to the next level. His impressive ball distribution, with an average of 5 assists per game, landed him on the DVC first team.
Adding to the trio, center James McKinney dominated the paint. Standing at 6’7”, James utilized his size effectively by averaging 16.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. His prolific scoring, strong rebounding, and rim protection helped secure his first-team honors and the league MVP award.
These three players not only showcased their individual talents but also played crucial roles in Nipmuc’s successful season. Their stellar play is a testament to the hard work and commitment that defined the Warriors’ campaign.
