Nipmuc Volleyball on Dominant Run

The Nipmuc Warriors’ volleyball team has turned its season around with a six-match winning streak, including three 3-0 sweeps of Douglas, Whitinsville Christian, and Hopedale. After an early 3-5 start that featured tough matchups against Medfield and other strong opponents, Nipmuc’s offense, serving, and blocking have come together at the right time.

Annabel Palmer has been a consistent weapon, averaging 2.9 kills per set, while libero Maya Vercruysse has anchored the defense with 3.1 digs per set. The team’s improved serve pressure has produced easier transition points and created holes in opponent formations. That collective lift has made Nipmuc a confident, well-rounded squad.

Tomorrow’s test is Holliston, a solid 8-5 team fresh off a gritty 3-2 win over Westwood. Nipmuc will need leadership from its veteran hitters and steady passing to control tempo and shut down Holliston’s attack. If Nipmuc continues executing its serving strategy and sustaining blocks at the net, the Warriors should be competitive and have a real shot at extending the streak.
