Nipmuc Stomps Bay Path to Halt Slide, Eyes David Prouty Rematch Tonight

Nipmuc’s boys basketball squad snapped a difficult stretch with a decisive 58-43 home win over Bay Path, which halted a run in which the Warriors had gone 1-7 over their previous eight games.

The victory was emphatic early. Nipmuc exploded to a 32-11 halftime lead behind disciplined offense and defensive pressure, forcing Bay Path into rushed possessions and contested shots. Sam Mosier and Grady O’Neil led the charge with 10 points each, while Colton Kelly provided timely shooting, nine points on three threes, to steady the margin when Bay Path looked to cut into the lead.

The scoreboard now reads 7-8 for Nipmuc, and the program will immediately face a stiff test: a road date with David Prouty tonight at 6:30 p.m. Prouty owns a 10-3 record and previously dominated the Warriors 58-26 in their earlier meeting, so Nipmuc will need its stars to rise again and for rotation players to deliver consistent minutes. If Mosier and O’Neil can replicate scoring and defensive intensity while role players contribute on the glass and in transition, Nipmuc has a realistic shot at climbing back to .500.
