The Nipmuc Warriors softball team’s impressive playoff run concluded with a 4-0 loss to top‐seeded Dighton‑Rehoboth in yesterday afternoon’s Division 3 semifinal. Coming off a statement 3-0 upset of previously undefeated Tantasqua in the quarterfinals, Nipmuc entered this contest with momentum but ran into another powerhouse. The Warriors managed only four hits, courtesy of Bridget Kulpa, Keegan Kelley, Kira DeBaggis, and Izzy Nicholson. Dighton‑Rehoboth’s ace Edy LaTour dominated in the circle, allowing no runs and striking out eight batters throughout her stellar performance. Nipmuc starter Charlotte Leitch battled through six innings, yielding three earned runs and six hits, but the Warriors couldn’t answer offensively. Despite the shutout, Nipmuc’s season was a major success, knocking off top opponents and reaching the state final four. Their balanced roster and postseason resilience speak volumes for the program’s trajectory. As the Warriors regroup, they’ll lean on this deep run as proof they belong among the state’s elite and use the experience to fuel next year’s championship bid. Expect this Warriors squad to be back sooner than later, and don’t be surprised if they break through to the championship game.
