After a red-hot 9-0 start to the season, the Nipmuc Warriors softball team faced their first setback with a narrow 2-0 loss to St. Paul on Monday. That brief stumble did little to slow their momentum, as they rebounded in dominant fashion Tuesday night, routing the Sutton Suzies 14-0. The Warriors showcased depth and balance in the blowout, with production up and down the lineup. Charlotte Leitch led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs, while Bridget Klupa tallied three hits and drove in two runs. Nipmuc’s pitching staff was equally impressive, shutting out the Suzies and never allowing them to gain traction. The Warriors have proven themselves to be one of the most formidable teams in the region this spring, overwhelming opponents with power hitting, sharp base-running, and consistent defense. Tuesday’s victory marked their seventh game this season decided by double digits. With a rematch against Sutton scheduled for today, this time at home, Nipmuc will aim to prove their dominance wasn’t a one-off. A second straight win over Sutton would put them firmly back on track and reassert their place atop the standings as they continue pushing toward a deep postseason run.
