The Nipmuc girls’ lacrosse team saw its playoff run come to an end in a high-scoring 18-11 loss to No. 7 Pentucket. Despite the tough result, the No. 10 Warriors showed their strength in a back-and-forth battle filled with offensive fireworks. Nipmuc entered the matchup with a strong 12-5 record, while Pentucket had posted 15 regular-season wins. The two teams delivered a game that matched their credentials, with both sides pushing the pace and creating scoring chances throughout. Nipmuc kept it close, but Pentucket capitalized on key turnovers and used quick ball movement to create separation. Even in defeat, the Warriors showed heart and skill on the road. Their defense held up for stretches, but Pentucket’s consistency ultimately proved the difference. It was a solid showing from a team that has made back-to-back Round of 16 appearances in the Division 4 bracket. Nipmuc’s strong regular season and competitive postseason effort give them a lot to build on. With similar playoff results the past two years, the Warriors will look to take the next step next season and reach the quarterfinals.
