Nipmuc delivered a dominant 48-0 win over Assabet, capping a string of impressive results after recovering from early setbacks this season. The Warriors followed earlier wins of 39-6 (Monty Tech) and 50-16 (Burncoat) with Saturday’s shutout, and the performance highlighted both their offensive variety and defensive control.
Josh Giancola was efficient, completing 4 of 5 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns through the air, while Eben Consigli led the ground game with 117 yards and two scores on nine carries. Tyler Rainbow also contributed a strong rushing performance, totaling 93 yards on five carries with two touchdowns. That three-headed offensive attack made it difficult for Assabet to find a defensive answer; Nipmuc consistently converted drives into points and dictated tempo.
On defense, the Warriors were relentless, forcing punts, creating three-and-out sequences, and maintaining field position. Pressure up front and sound coverage in the secondary kept Assabet off balance all afternoon. Nipmuc’s next test is Friday at 7 p.m. against Northbridge, a 5-1 squad that has been rolling this season. Should Nipmuc bring the same balance and defensive intensity, they’ll be in a strong position to continue their rise in the D6 power rankings.
