Nipmuc baseball closed its regular season in impressive fashion Sunday, shutting out Northbridge 6-0 in a dominant performance. The win brought the Warriors to a 12-8 record, capping off a strong season that ultimately saw them just miss the Division 3 top 32. Josh Giancola sparked the offense with a two-run homer to open the scoring, and Sean Burchard added two hits, two runs, and an RBI to help pad the lead. On the mound, Nipmuc showcased its pitching depth, using four different pitchers to blank the Rams. Senior ace Dylan Muccini contributed two hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts in the win. Muccini’s performance capped an outstanding comeback season after missing last year due to injury. He finished the year with a stellar 1.30 ERA and delivered several gem outings, including a 10-strikeout win over Hopedale two weeks ago. In his senior season, Dylan proved to be a bona fide ace and showed tremendous mental strength overcoming his injury from last year. Despite missing the top 32, the Warriors will face off against Tewksbury tomorrow at 4 PM on the road.
