Nipmuc baseball is back in rhythm, powering past Douglas 11-0 in a dominant win that showed off both their arms and bats. The Warriors are now 8-5 after battling through a 1-5 slump earlier in April. Leading the charge once again was ace Dylan Muccini, who tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts over six innings. Muccini has become a cornerstone of the team’s success, having already thrown a no-hitter this season. Offensively, Sean Burchard and John Desmond led the way with two RBIs apiece, while the rest of the lineup contributed across the board. Nine different players scored as Nipmuc ran up the score with patience and power. Their three-game win streak has them trending upward, and they’ll look to continue that momentum this afternoon against winless Blackstone-Millville. With the Chargers struggling, Nipmuc has an opportunity to solidify its standing and climb the MIAA power rankings. If they stay hot, the Warriors could be a dangerous playoff team with a solid rotation and reliable offensive depth.
