Milford Volleyball Captures Much-Needed Win

The Milford Scarlet-Hawks girls’ volleyball team broke a long skid with a dominant 3-0 win over Foxborough Monday night. Milford entered the match with a difficult 2-10 ledger, having lost ten straight after an early 3-1 victory over North Attleboro. The team had been flattened 3-0 seven times this season, so last night’s sweep was a welcome reset.

Senior captains Layanne Maforte and Danielle Darling set the tone with leadership in serve-receive and steady passing, while role players provided energy in the middle and on the back line. The clean execution in both serve and transition offense helped Milford keep pressure on Foxborough and limit extended rallies.

Milford travels to face Sharon tonight, another squad sitting at 2-10. This matchup provides a prime chance for Milford to string together consecutive wins for the first time and build confidence down the stretch. The coaching staff will emphasize consistency, minimizing unforced errors, aggressive serving, and maintaining serve-receive stability to keep their momentum after the Foxborough sweep.

If Milford can translate last night’s execution into back-to-back victories, this group could end the season on an upward trajectory even if the overall record still looks challenging.
