Milford Post #59 extended its strong start with a 10-4 victory over North County on Wednesday afternoon. After a scoreless first three innings, Post #59 struck first in the fourth, then exploded for five runs in the fifth to seize control. North County answered with four in the sixth, but Milford shut them down in the seventh and added five more runs to ice the win. First baseman Nick Gouveia was the offensive catalyst, launching a home run and driving in four runs on a night when the bats finally came alive again. On the mound, Daniel Heisler worked five solid innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with one strikeout, earning the win. The bullpen closed the door with efficient relief, preserving the lead. Milford’s offensive turnaround showed depth beyond its opening 15-1 blowout. With the season still young, Post #59 has proven it can win both slugfests and tighter contests. Next up is a week off before facing Northboro on Tuesday. With Gouveia swinging a hot bat and the pitching staff settling in, Milford looks poised to remain a Legion powerhouse all summer.
