Milford Legion baseball continues to dominate this summer, improving to a perfect 16-0 after Thursday’s convincing win over Framingham. Much of that success can be credited to the team’s deep, talented roster, several of whom have now been recognized for their standout spring performances with DVC All-Star selections.
Because Legion baseball is regional, many of these players suited up for other high school programs this past spring, but they’ve quickly found chemistry and success with Milford Legion. Brayden Lewis, Sean Burchard, Josh Giancola, and Gavin Metcalf have all been crucial to the team’s undefeated run, and all four were honored for their outstanding high school seasons.
Brayden Lewis, who starred for Hopedale, was named Player of the Year after leading the Blue Raiders to a state semifinal appearance. Sean Burchard also delivered a great campaign, batting .367 with a .516 OBP and two home runs. Josh Giancola posted a 3.50 ERA while tallying 12 RBIs and 16 runs, and Gavin Metcalf finished with 19 hits, 12 runs, and a team-best .373 batting average. These players dominated in the spring, and they’re doing it again this summer for Milford Legion.
