Milford Legion baseball has been excellent all season, led by a dynamic offense that has yet to be contained. Milford had a big weekend at the annual Gubby Underwood Invitational, which saw the team make it all the way to the finals, despite losing a tough matchup against Kingston, RI. Milford was able to plate six runners, but Kingston’s offense exploded for 17 runs. Aside from coming up just short in tournament play, Milford got back on track with a dominant 11-1 victory over Cherry Valley Tuesday night. Ace pitcher Anthony Lapierre led Milford in this one, putting together six strong innings, fanning nine while giving up one walk in this one. Offensively, Milford contributed double-digit runs, which has been common this season. Milford came out of the gates on fire, scoring four runs in the first and having contributions across the lineup, with seven players recording an RBI. This decisive victory takes Milford to a perfect 9-0 on the season, ahead of their next matchup against Northbridge tonight at 7 PM from the comforts of home at Fino Field. Milford dominated their last matchup 14-0 earlier in the year and will look to keep rolling to 10-0 on the season.
