Milford Baseball Surges Late in Season, Tops Hopedale 12–2

The Milford Scarlet Hawks delivered a dominant 12–2 victory over a strong Hopedale squad Sunday night, continuing their late-season resurgence. While Milford has battled inconsistency throughout the year, they’ve recently found a groove, winning five of their last six games to improve to 10–11. The latest win was particularly impressive given Hopedale’s 13–7 record and recent success. Milford’s offense was locked in from the opening pitch, tallying twelve runs on the night while their pitching completely shut down the Blue Raiders’ lineup outside of star Brayden Lewis. The DVC Player of the Year chipped in both of Hopedale’s RBIs, capping off a standout regular season, but it wasn’t enough to slow Milford’s momentum. With one regular-season game left against Ashland on Monday afternoon, the Scarlet Hawks have a chance to enter the Division 2 playoffs riding a three-game winning streak. If Milford continues this level of play, they could become a dangerous out in the tournament and peak at just the right time. Make sure to keep an eye on the Scarlet-Hawks in the playoffs as a dark-horse candidate.
