Medway Mustangs Tennis Looks for More Success

The Medway Mustangs boys tennis team is heading into the new season with confidence after a strong 2025 campaign that included a trip to the Elite 8 in the D3 playoff bracket. Medway finished the regular season 11-5 and earned the No. 10 seed before falling to Martha’s Vineyard Regional, 5-0, in the postseason.

A large part of the Mustangs’ success last year came from the No. 1 doubles pairing of Tommy Stotz and Alex Menard. The duo finished with an impressive 15-4 record and gave Medway a dependable presence at the top of the doubles lineup. Stotz has also been recognized as a Tri Valley League All-Star in each of the last two seasons, and he now has a chance to make it three straight honors before his high school career is over.

Medway opens its regular season next week with a Wednesday matchup against Norton at 3:45 p.m. The Lancers went 0-16 last season, which gives the Mustangs a strong opportunity to start the year with a win and establish early momentum.

With a proven doubles leader and a roster that already knows what it takes to make a deep run, Medway should again be a team to watch in D3. If the Mustangs can carry over their chemistry and sharpen their depth, they could be back in the playoff mix once more.
