Medway Boys Tennis Bounces Back After Facing Top Competition

The Medway Mustangs boys’ tennis team has quietly compiled an impressive 8–5 record as the postseason approaches. After enduring back-to-back 5–0 losses at the hands of Medfield (9–1) and unbeaten Hopkinton (13–0), the Mustangs faced a reality check that exposed areas for improvement, particularly in doubles play and serve consistency. Determined to rebound, Medway traveled to Norwood (4–7) yesterday and delivered a strong performance, cruising to a 4–1 victory. The Mustangs dominated the affair, controlling most facets of every match, showcasing both adaptable shot selection and sharper communication on the court. By capitalizing on break opportunities and maintaining steady first serves, Medway regained the confidence it had lost against top-tier opponents. With playoff positions still up for grabs, every match is critical. Today at 3:45 PM, the Mustangs welcome Norton High School (0–13) to the Medway High School Tennis Courts. Norton enters without a win this season, presenting Medway with an ideal opportunity to build momentum. If the Mustangs maintain the intensity and execution they displayed against Norwood, strong serves, aggressive net play, and reliable volleys, they should close out the regular season on a high note and head into postseason play with confidence.
