Medfield’s girls lacrosse team turned in another dominant performance last night, rolling past Holliston 19-5 to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Warriors have been clicking early and once again showed how difficult they are to slow down when they are winning draws, forcing turnovers and finishing efficiently in transition.
Stella Scobbo led the way in a truly all-around effort, scoring four goals and adding an assist while also controlling the draw with 13 draw controls. She added four ground balls and seven caused turnovers, making her impact felt in every phase of the game. Medfield’s ability to win possession and turn that into quick offense kept the Panthers under constant pressure.
The victory comes on the heels of an 18-3 win over Ashland on Monday afternoon, another game in which Medfield showed its ability to overwhelm opponents early and maintain control. Those back-to-back wins have put the Warriors in a strong position as they continue to build momentum in the opening stretch of the season.
Medfield now heads to Reading Memorial tomorrow at 4 p.m. on the road. Reading has been strong as well, coming off a 15-3 win over Andover, so this should be one of the more competitive tests on Medfield’s early schedule. The Warriors will look to keep their balance and intensity intact against another quality opponent.
