The Medfield girls capped a remarkable season by capturing the Division 3 crown and collecting a raft of postseason honors. The Warriors finished 22-1 overall and 14-0 in TVL Small play, avenging last year’s finals loss to Nipmuc by taking this year’s title 1-0.
Sidney Heavey headlined the accolades: TVL Small MVP and All-Star, an EMass All-Star and All-State first-team selection, USCA All-New England recognition, an All-American nod and the MA D3 Player of the Year award. Her season carried Medfield’s attack and helped define the Warriors’ title run.
Teammates Devon Weafer and Stella Scobbo joined Heavey on the TVL All-Star and EMass first-team lists, while Elizabeth George earned TVL All-Star honors and EMass second-team recognition. Aubrey Grandinetti was named a TVL All-Star, Emily Hoffman received a TVL honorable mention and the USCA Senior Excellence Award, and Morganne Kilmer, Somer Higgins and Cate Rodenhi also earned honorable mentions.
Coach Melinda Lohan was recognized as TVL Small Coach of the Year and took home EMGSCA D3 and Small School Coach of the Year honors. The haul of team and individual awards rewards a season that combined elite talent, strong leadership and outstanding coaching.
