Wednesday afternoon saw the Medfield Warriors boys lacrosse team dominate North Middlesex, posting a 22-5 blowout win in the Division 3 second round. As the No. 1 seed, Medfield wasted no time taking control and extended its playoff momentum by scoring early and often. The Warriors’ offense was relentless. Medfield capitalized on every loose ball and defensive miscue, quickly transitioning from defense to offense and keeping North Middlesex pinned in its own end. Medfield’s midfielders won the majority of faceoffs, ensuring the team spent most of the game in the offensive half. Attackers finished with accuracy, repeatedly finding open spaces and converting passes into goals. By the end of the first quarter, Medfield had already built a sizable lead, setting the tone for the rest of the contest. With this victory, the Warriors improved their playoff scoring total to 45 goals across two games, underscoring just how dominant they have been. Next up is a quarterfinal clash with No. 8 Wakefield Memorial, which enters the game at 14-3 and has also scored double-digit goals in its opening-round matchups. Wakefield’s offense will present a stiffer test, but Medfield’s depth, execution, and confidence as the defending state champions give them every reason to believe they can pull away again. Medfield hosts Wakefield at 7 PM on Friday at Medfield High School. A win would send the Warriors to the semifinals and keep their bid for a tenth state title alive. With an already impressive resume, league champions, and back-to-back state runs, Medfield looks to continue its dominant postseason run.
