Medfield Alum Drafted to Detroit

Medfield High School alum Jack Goodman has taken his next step, being selected 399th overall (13th round) by the Detroit Tigers in the MLB Draft. Goodman dominated at Medfield, where over three varsity seasons he slashed .457/.515/1.270 OPS. His senior year was sensational: .523 batting average, .941 slugging, and 19 extra‑base hits in 23 games.

Post‑graduation, Goodman showcased his skills in the FCBL with the Worcester Bravehearts in 2022, batting .291 with 25 hits and 5 RBIs in just 23 games. He then starred at Northeastern University, where as a junior he hit .335 with a .406 OBP, .535 slugging, 10 home runs, 51 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases, all while anchoring shortstop and earning All‑CAA First Team and NCAA Tournament All‑Regional honors.

Goodman’s combination of contact, power, speed, and defense made him one of the Northeast’s most coveted prospects. Now entering the Tigers’ farm system, he brings a track record of success at every level.
