Nipmuc’s Josh Giancola will head into his senior season as a bona fide two-sport threat, and expectations are high after a standout spring on the diamond and an electric year under center. Last season on the football field, Giancola threw for 1,808 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 419 yards and seven scores, completing 58% of his passes and earning an honorable-mention all-star nod in Central Massachusetts D6 play. Those numbers underscored his dual-threat capability and his ability to carry an offense even when Nipmuc had an up-and-down year overall.

Although the Warriors finished 4-7, Giancola’s play kept the team competitive and provided a blueprint for how he can lift the roster as a senior. He combines arm strength, mobility, and decision-making that can stress defenses both through the air and on the ground. Entering his final high school season, Josh will be counted on to guide Nipmuc back into playoff contention and to refine the mechanics and reads that make him so effective. Football is often a game of small margins, and Giancola’s all-around instincts make him a player opponents will plan for and a leader his teammates can rally around.
