Two Hopkinton Hillers softball players were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region First Team all-stars. The Hopkinton Hillers had an excellent season overall for softball, finishing their season 20-4 and reaching the D2 Final Four. Senior Holly Paharik and Sophomore Addy Walls were named to the NFCA All-Region First Team because of their fantastic play all season long. Paharik ended her Hopkinton career with a fantastic season, hitting .589 with 11 homers, 36 RBIs, and a staggering 2.068 OPS. Because of this, she was also named the TVL MVP, which is appropriate and about as well as one can end a career. As for Walls, she was a TVL all-star and held batters to a .179 batting average in the circle and hit .457 in the batter’s box. These two girls should be extremely proud of their seasons and brought great pride to Hopkinton throughout the season. While Holly’s presence will surely be missed, Addy will look to take over the reins as Hopkinton’s de facto superstar over the next two seasons.
