Hopedale Girls Basketball has been dominant this season, ranking first in their league and in the top 50 statewide with a 16-4 record, including 12-2 in league play. In a nail-biting semifinal, they narrowly defeated #5 Douglas 33-31 to reach the finals. They now face the Uxbridge Spartans, who are coming off an impressive 36-28 victory over #7 Sutton. Uxbridge finished the season with a 15-5 record and 9-2 in league play. Their semifinal win holds extra meaning as Sutton defeated them in the same spot last year. Hopedale will lean on experienced captains Phoebe Carroll and Mackenzie Reynolds in their bid for their first Clark Tournament Championship. Uxbridge will entrust captain Natalie Orr, who scored 11 points in the semifinal, to help lead them to their first-ever Clark Tournament title. The Girls Small School Championship will take place today at 6:15 pm at Kneller Athletics Center (57 Downing Street, Worcester, MA 01610). Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for Grades 7-12 and seniors, and $2 for Grades K-6.
