The Hopedale Blue Raiders golf team continues to roll, sitting at an impressive 12-2 overall after their win over AMSA on Monday. The team bounced back quickly from a tight loss to BVT (166-151) and answered with a solid showing against AMSA in which Colin Haynes shot even par and Brady Wajda carded a 37. Those two have been steady leaders all season.
Colin’s recent form has been notable. He medaled with a two-under 33 in a narrow 159-162 win over Whitinsville, showing the kind of stroke and short-game touch that made him a contender at last year’s D3 MIAA individual championships. Brady’s consistent scores have also been critical in allowing Hopedale to stack rounds and win close matches.
Hopedale’s improvement over last year’s 11-4 campaign is clear; they’ve kept their depth even after graduation losses and continue to perform in tight situations. The Blue Raiders are carrying momentum into today’s tournament play at home for the CMAC B Championship, where their depth and top-end scoring will be put to the test.
If Colin remains hot and the supporting scores hold, Hopedale will be a difficult out in postseason play. The team’s mix of low rounds and steady mid-card scores makes them a legitimate contender in their region.
