Holliston’s baseball team continued its strong start yesterday afternoon with a dominant 13-2 win over Dedham. The Panthers took control early and never let go, scoring 11 runs in the second inning to effectively end the game before it had a chance to turn into a true contest.

Max Mauro had a standout day at the plate, collecting two doubles and driving in three runs. Ben Maiorano also chipped in with a double and two RBIs as Holliston found ways to keep pressure on the Marauders throughout the lineup. On the mound, Cal Leverone started the game but allowed two runs over two innings and issued four walks. Ben O’Brien then came on in relief and shut Dedham down, tossing three scoreless no-hit innings with four strikeouts.

The victory moves Holliston to 2-0 after an 8-4 season-opening win over Norwood. In that game, Aidan Kramer had three hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in three runs, while Jack McDonald added two doubles and two RBIs. The Panthers have already shown that they can generate offense from multiple spots in the order and get strong outings from their pitchers.

Holliston now looks ahead to Leominster today at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Devils are opening their season, which gives the Panthers another chance to stay hot and keep their unbeaten start rolling.
