The Holliston girls’ lacrosse team wrapped up a challenging season on a positive note, finishing with a 5–13 record after winning two of their final three games. While the Panthers struggled with consistency throughout the year, including two separate four-game losing streaks, they saved their best lacrosse for last. On Tuesday, Holliston edged Wachusett 10–9 in a thrilling matchup between two struggling squads. The Panthers showed late-game poise and composure to secure the one-goal win. The effort followed a tough 19–10 loss to Ashland, one of the top teams in the area with a 13–6 record. Even in defeat, the Panthers demonstrated more offensive cohesion and grit than they had earlier in the season. With wins in two of their last three games, including a narrow one over Wachusett, Holliston ends the year with momentum. Their late surge is something to build on, especially for a group that battled through adversity all season. While the final record may not reflect the team’s effort, the Panthers have shown the potential to bounce back stronger next year.
