The Hopkinton Hillers girls’ golf team concluded a superb regular season at 12–3, comfortably surpassing the sectional qualifying mark. Senior Emily Watson and junior Leah Hong led the charge, combining steady course management with confident shot-making and smart club selection. Freshman Bridget Wilk emerged as a difference-maker, delivering clutch pars on difficult holes and showing maturity beyond her years. Hopkinton’s consistency was evident in six straight match wins to close the schedule, culminating in a dominant 32–10 victory over Westborough. In that match, Captain Leah Hong and freshman standout Gigi Linton each carded 44s, highlighting the team’s overall strength. Beyond individual scores, the Hillers displayed strategic play, knowing when to attack pins on par-3s and when to play conservatively to avoid trouble. Their team chemistry and supportive dynamic also shone through, with veteran players mentoring newcomers during practice rounds and aiding course management decisions. Putting drills and mental-game exercises have paid dividends, as evidenced by fewer three-putts and improved bunker recoveries. As they head into sectionals, the Hillers carry both momentum and belief in their depth. With multiple players capable of medal-contending rounds, Hopkinton projects as one of the favorites to make a deep postseason run and vie for a sectional championship.
