Now in only their third season, the Hopkinton girls’ golf team sits at 5–5 with key postseason goals in sight. Guided by upperclassmen Emily Watson and Leah Hong, and energized by newcomer Gigi Linton, the Hillers have navigated a challenging slate. Recent results include wins over Notre Dame, Nashoba, and Burncoat, alongside two close losses (22–31 and 2–4) to Bishop Feehan, illustrating their competitiveness against top programs. Today at 3:30 PM, Hopkinton travels to face 9–0 Wachusett Regional, the season’s top-ranked squad. To compete, the Hillers will need consistent ball striking, smart course management, and steady putting across all six players in the varsity lineup. A strong showing could boost Hopkinton’s sectional seeding; a setback would underscore the fine margins in the sectional race. With multiple home matches looming after this challenge, Hopkinton has an opportunity to build momentum with both veteran leadership and youthful upside. The team’s blend of experience and potential bodes well for a late-season push, as each tournament round brings the playoffs within reach.
