The Hopkinton Hillers boys’ tennis team continued its dominant march Wednesday, first dismantling Algonquin, a squad currently in the Division 2 playoff hunt, and then blanking Dedham 5–0. Against the Titans, Hopkinton’s top singles players, Max Sendele and Joe Krattenmaker, dispatched their opponents in straight sets, setting the tone for a comprehensive team victory. The doubles pairings followed suit, each clinching their matches without dropping a set. Following that statement win, the Hillers carried their momentum into the Dedham matchup. The Marauders, sitting at 3–10, were unable to counter Hopkinton’s crisp volleys and strategic shot placement. From dominant serves to seamless net play, the Hillers controlled every point, showcasing why they’re unbeaten this season. Now 17–0, Hopkinton sits atop the Division 2 power rankings, well ahead of the No. 2 team. After reaching the quarterfinals last year, this squad has sharpened its edge and looks like the favorite heading into the postseason. To close out the regular season, Hopkinton will celebrate Senior Day when it hosts Norwood today at 4:45 PM. The Mustangs have struggled this year, making Hopkinton heavy favorites, but the Hillers aim to maintain their relentless standard as they prepare for the playoffs.
