The Blackstone-Millville girls’ soccer team continues to surge through the season, now 8-3-1 after a dramatic 3-2 win over Bromfield. The match was largely a one-player show, as sophomore Grace Ahearn recorded a hat trick and single-handedly accounted for all of the Chargers’ goals.
While the team produced a strong collective build-up and ball movement, Ahearn’s finishing made the difference. Teammates Natalia Morais, Julia Korencsik, and Ella McCourt also contributed earlier in the week in a different 3-2 win over St. Paul’s, showing the roster has multiple scoring outlets when needed.
Blackstone-Millville faces Whitinsville Christian at home this afternoon at 4 PM. The Crusaders have struggled this season, and the Chargers will aim to ride Ahearn’s hot foot and the team’s recent momentum to a fifth straight win. If Grace continues to find space and the midfield sustains supply, the Chargers could keep the streak alive and further solidify themselves as one of the region’s hottest teams. On the other hands, the Crusaders are desperate and should not be taken lightly for a confident Chargers squad.
