FRANKLIN — Young athletes from Franklin and surrounding communities will have the chance to compete in a fun and welcoming track and field environment as the Franklin Youth Open Track & Field Meets get underway tonight at Franklin High School.
The three-week series, organized by coaches from Franklin High School and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School, will be held on July 14, July 21, and July 28. Registration and field events begin at 5:00 p.m., with running events scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
The meets are designed to give youth athletes an opportunity to develop their skills, experience friendly competition, and enjoy the sport of track and field. Participants can compete in as many events as they’d like for just $5 per athlete, payable by cash or Venmo.
In addition to the competition, C&C Ice Cream will be on hand throughout the evening, giving families and spectators a chance to enjoy a sweet treat while cheering on the athletes.
The Franklin Youth Open emphasizes learning, competition, and fun for athletes of all experience levels, making it a great opportunity for both first-time competitors and seasoned youth track and field participants.
The remaining meets in the series will take place on July 21 and July 28, with the same 5:00 p.m. registration and 6:00 p.m. running event schedule.
